What can a pet owner do if they do not want to leave their furry little friend at home when going on a holiday? Luckily, there are an increasing number of dog-friendly hotels, campsites and other types of accommodation in Hungary, and there is also a dedicated search option on some holiday websites to identify hosts that accept pets.
This may seem like an easy question at first, but not so much if you also have to take into account your dog’s character and habits, and how well-trained they are. Whatever decision you arrive at must also meet your expectations of an ideal holiday, to make sure both of you have a pleasant time. Generally speaking, accommodation with large grounds or at least located in the vicinity of a green space is most suitable so that your dog can run around and so you will not have to worry about them even if you have to leave them alone for a while.
Even if you are set on staying in the comfort of a hotel, there are an increasing number of dog-friendly hotels to choose from. Nonetheless, there are a few important considerations. Pick a hotel that is not overcrowded and where green spaces are not too far away. Even better if your accommodation has access to a dedicated garden.

For safety, only take your dog with you on holiday if they obey orders, get on well with strangers and children, and do not pose a threat to other dogs. The ideal travel companion is calm, not prone to barking at or scaring other guests.
Your dog should also be able to cope with enclosed spaces, especially if you plan to stay at a hotel. They should definitely not damage the furniture if left alone in the room for a few hours. Whenever you travel with an animal, you are responsible for their behaviour, so consider carefully whether your dog will be able to cope with this situation. You know your dog the best. Make sure you take their character into account when planning your holiday.
Every place of accommodation has its own house rules, but some are almost universal. First and foremost, your pet must be healthy and fully vaccinated, and practically all hosts will want to see an up-to-date vaccination log when you check in.
The other general rule is that your dog will need to be on a lead. This is in everyone’s interest. It helps you ensure your furry friend will not run away, and other guests can be more relaxed around them. The lead will also ensure everyone’s safety.
A maximum of two pets are allowed per accommodation.
Dogs are usually allowed to stay at the accommodation for an additional fee, but it’s worth it because if we left our dog at home, we would still need to find someone to take care of them while we’re away.

What is more, dogs are very attached to their owners, and can be quite distressed by the separation. All in all, if you consider your dog part of the family, you are best off taking them with you on holiday.

A PHOBS doo tájékoztatása szerint 2026. június 3-án jogosulatlan hozzáférés történhetett a foglaláskezelő rendszerben tárolt egyes vendégfoglalási adatokhoz. A jelenleg rendelkezésre álló információk alapján az érintett adatok köre magában foglalhatja a vendég vezeték- és keresztnevét, elérhetőségi adatait, valamint a foglaláshoz kapcsolódó egyes információkat. A PHOBS doo tájékoztatása szerint bankkártyaadatok nem kerültek veszélybe, és a szolgáltató közlése alapján azokat nem olyan formában tárolják, amely lehetővé tenné azokkal való visszaélést a jelen incidens keretében.
A megtévesztő vagy adathalász üzenetek jellemzően fizetésre, bankkártyaadatok megerősítésére, személyazonosság-ellenőrzésre, biztonsági kód megadására vagy gyanús internetes link megnyitására szólíthatnak fel a szállásadó nevében.
Fontos hangsúlyozni, hogy a Club Pannon Camps & Hotels Kft. által üzemeltetett szálláshelyek nem kérnek bankkártyaadatokat WhatsApp-üzenetben, nem kérik bankkártyaadatok vagy biztonsági kódok megadását üzenetküldő alkalmazáson keresztül, és nem küldenek ismeretlen külső weboldalakra mutató fizetési vagy hitelesítési linkeket WhatsAppon keresztül.

According to information provided by PHOBS d.o.o., on 3 June 2026, unauthorised access may have occurred to certain guest reservation data stored in the reservation management system. Based on the currently available information, the affected data may include guests’ first and last names, contact details, and certain information related to their bookings. PHOBS d.o.o. has stated that no bank card data has been compromised, and that such data is not stored in a form that would allow misuse in the context of this incident.
Deceptive or phishing messages typically request payment, confirmation of bank card details, identity verification, the provision of security codes, or the opening of suspicious internet links in the name of the accommodation provider.
It is important to emphasise that the accommodation providers operated by Club Pannon Camps & Hotels Ltd. do not request bank card details via WhatsApp messages, do not ask for bank card information or security codes through messaging applications, and do not send payment or verification links to unknown external websites via WhatsApp.

Der Anbieter des externen Reservierungsverwaltungssystems, das von Club Pannon Camps & Hotels Kft. verwendet wird, PHOBS d.o.o., hat unser Unternehmen über einen Sicherheitsvorfall informiert.
Nach Angaben von PHOBS d.o.o. könnte es am 3. Juni 2026 zu einem unbefugten Zugriff auf bestimmte Gästebuchungsdaten gekommen sein, die im Reservierungsverwaltungssystem gespeichert sind. Täuschende oder Phishing-Nachrichten fordern in der Regel zur Zahlung, zur Bestätigung von Bankkartendaten, zur Identitätsverifizierung, zur Übermittlung von Sicherheitscodes oder zum Öffnen verdächtiger Internetlinks im Namen des Unterkunftsanbieters auf.
Es ist wichtig zu betonen, dass die von Club Pannon Camps & Hotels Kft. betriebenen Unterkunftsanbieter keine Bankkartendaten über WhatsApp-Nachrichten anfordern, keine Bankkarteninformationen oder Sicherheitscodes über Messaging-Anwendungen erfragen und keine Zahlungs- oder Verifizierungslinks zu unbekannten externen Websites über WhatsApp versenden.
